Built to know less.

Most automatic time trackers work by watching what you do. Pukuku works the other way round: it collects only what it needs to tell when you worked, and keeps it on your phone.

What happens when you arrive

Your phone reports You reached one of your places with the position it was measured at
Pukuku keeps Arrived at work · 08:31 A plain fact. The position is thrown away.
Your day shows Work from 08:31
On your phone

What Pukuku keeps

The pin and role of each place you set up, so your phone can tell Pukuku when you arrive. Nothing about where else you went. The facts of each day: arrived, left, sat down at the desk, walking, still Your days: work, breaks and travel, each marked as seen, assumed or set by you Your answers and corrections, and the habits learned from them Your weekly hours and working days, for the target
Nowhere

What it never collects

A history of where you've been, or any coordinates from your day Which apps you use, your browser history, screenshots or what's on your screen Keyboard or mouse activity on any computer Your contacts or your calendar Wi-Fi networks, or Bluetooth devices around you other than the desk beacon you choose
Permissions

What Android will ask you, and why.

Each one answers a single question about your day, and none of them is used for anything else.

Location, all the timeSo Pukuku notices when you come and go, even with the app closed. It only keeps "arrived" or "left", never where you were.
Physical activityTo know whether you're walking, sitting still or in a vehicle, which your phone already works out on its own.
Nearby devicesOnly if you use a desk beacon, to hear that one beacon. Other devices around you are ignored and never stored.
NotificationsFor the short questions, and the summary of your day in the evening.
The dashboard

No server in between

Your days travel from your phone's screen through your webcam into your browser. The dashboard has no server behind it, and its security settings block connections to anywhere else. Your days stay in that browser until you choose Forget all data.

What comes across: start, end, worked time and breaks for each day, the stretches of each day, and your weekly hours. No places, no coordinates.

The pilot

An upload you switch on, or don't

Pilot testers can send a small daily file to help us improve the rules. It stays off unless you switch it on, and Preview shows you the exact file first.

Sent: the type and time of each event (for example "arrived at work, quality strong"), the day's timeline, the questions and your answers, your corrections, whether sensors delivered, counts that estimate battery use, your app settings and crash reports.

Never sent: coordinates or any location, the names or addresses of your places, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth identifiers, calendar titles or attendees, which apps you use, contacts, your device's serial numbers or model name.

Files are stored under a random code, not your name. Delete my uploaded data removes everything already sent within a few days, and all pilot data is deleted 90 days after the pilot ends.
